La Cañada, Chile Chilhuacle Harvest and the Mixteca
Next, we will travel to the Mixteca region. After stopping in Teposcolula to see the impressive church, we will spend two nights in Tlaxiaco to learn about the costeño rojo chiles of this area. We will travel to Chalcatongo to learn the famous dish of that village and cool our palates with the ancient drink, pulque, sweetened with miel de maguey. Returning to Oaxaca, we will have a cooking class at Seasons of My Heart Cooking School at Rancho Aurora and prepare our farewell feast.

Price of the Chile Lover’s Tour $ 1,895.00 USD per person

To hold your spot in the tour a deposit of $250 US is required. Any single supplement charge should also be included with the deposit. Approximately 6 weeks before the beginning of the tour, half of the total for the tour is due. You should get an email reminder when payment is due. Final payment is due at the beginning of the course/tour in US dollars or pesos. You can also choose to send full payment in advance of the course/tour. *Reservations at the bottom of this page.
Cancelation and Refund:
If Seasons of My Heart cancels the course, all course fees paid directly to Seasons of My Heart will be refunded. There is no charge to transfer any fees paid to another course. We try to allow as much time as possible for student registration before canceling a course. Please check with us to see how the registration is progressing before purchasing non-refundable airline tickets. You will be notified 6 weeks prior to the course if we need to cancel . We also strongly encourage trip insurance in case of unforeseen events.
Cancelations by student: If the student cancels their registration for the course, 60 days in advance, they will receive a partial refund of $150 of the $250 USD deposit or we can transfer the deposit of $250 USD to another course of ours free of charge. Single supplements paid are fully refundable, if applicable.
Cancellation by student 59 days to 30 days prior to the course, a refund of fifty percent of the total price paid will be given. Single supplement will be returned in full, if applicable. No charge to transfer deposit to another SOMH course or tour.
Cancellation by student anytime between 29 days through the first day of the course: no refund will be given unless the space is sold to another participant. If the space is filled, a refund of fifty percent of the total fees paid will be refunded, once when we have confirmed another participant to fill the space. Single supplement will be returned in full, if applicable.
Seasons of My Heart must receive a written notification of cancellation prior to refund.
We assume no liability or responsibility for any delay, loss, damage, injury or accident with regards to persons or property caused by fault or negligence of any hotel, transportation, or local operator rendering a part of our services. We shall not be responsible for any expense caused by loss or damage of personal items. It is the participant’s responsibility to be adequately insured. We strongly recommend traveler’s insurance. The acceptance of our verbal or written confirmation, and a deposit or final payment for services, constitutes your acceptance of the terms and conditions listed in this brochure. SOMH reserves the right to make any changes, with or without notice, which might become necessary.

Help! I don’t know what to pack for my tour!
A detailed letter with a packing list will be sent, together with the itinerary for the course/tour one month before your departure!
I would like to arrange a private tour with Susana for a group of friends. Can that be arranged?
Absolutely! We do ask that you contact us well in advance with possible dates and interests of the group. Susana has done tours for groups of chefs, family groups and friends of varying lengths of time within Oaxaca and also in other areas of Mexico. Private classes can also be arranged.
