Barcelona, Cadeques and Pais Vasco 2021

We are excited to offer this tour again in the fall of 2021! We have been working on details and arrangements and are very excited to present this wonderful 10 day tour!

It starts in the exciting city of Barcelona, and continues north to Cadeques and Figures, then on for a view of Pais Vasco – the Basque country - eating and touring. We have scheduled some cooking classes in Barcelona with two talented chefs, and visit some food and wine merchants for tastings in the Gothic area and El Born, visiting chocolatiers, bakers, olive oil makers and cheese mongers. In various parts of the city, we will eat a lot of good Cataluyña specialties, and see a flamenco performance in Barcelona. You will have some time to wander to make your own discoveries. In the evenings, we will be eating late, in true Spanish fashion, at the wonderful tapas bars and restaurants to get to know Catalan specialties, We will sample Bombas and anchovies in oil in the famed Barceloneta neighborhood.

Expect to admire a lot of art, as we follow history through the works of Gaudi, Picasso and Dali. We will visit several of Gaudi’s buildings, including his masterpiece –Sagrada Familia, which is breathtaking! Then we travel north to the white seaside village of Cadeques for shopping and gallery browsing and to Port Lligat to visit Dali’s summertime home, and to his art museum and theater in Figures. From Barcelona, we will fly to San Sebastian, the culinary gemstone of the Basque country. In Pais Vasco, we will be staying at Concha Beach and trying out Basque specialties. Nights will be filled with pintxos and copas! We’ll take a day trip to visit a collective of cheese makers in the Basque country side and the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao. The food of this region is some of the best I have ever had. It is really an exciting tour and I love to bring people here!

3What is not Included in the course?
Transfers from Airport, Alcoholic beverages, laundry and phone calls.
4When will I receive a detailed itinerary for the course I am taking?
Once you send a deposit and sign up for the course.
5Help! I don’t know what to pack for my course!
A detailed letter with a packing list will be sent, together with the itinerary for the course a few weeks before your departure!
6I would like to arrange a private course with Susana for a group of friends. Can that be arranged?
Absolutely! We do ask that you contact us well in advance with possible dates and interests of the group. Susana has done course for groups of chefs, family groups and friends of varying lengths of time within Oaxaca and also in other areas of Mexico. Private classes can also be arranged.
