Market Tour + Cooking Class
Join Us Every Wednesday: Market Day in Oaxaca City Center
We meet up at 9 a.m. in Oaxaca city center. Our guide takes you on a tasting tour of the Central de Abastos market, where you will sample a myriad of local fruits, vegetables and specialties and interact with the merchants in this very colorful setting.
We then transfer to nearby Rancho Aurora, site of Seasons of my Heart Cooking School for a presentation and explanation of the day’s menu and details of the ingredients. (See half day option if you are not available in the morning)
Everyone grabs an apron and works together to create a magnificent five-course meal. Return to Oaxaca around 6pm.

Meet Your Chef Instructors

Chef Kaelin
Kaelin Ulrich, raised in Oaxaca, developed a deep appreciation for food and Mexican cultural traditions while growing up in a family immersed in cooking. He spent his youth at his mother's cooking school, Seasons of My Heart, and accompanied her on various TV programs. Inspired by his mother's commitment to authenticity, Kaelin recognized the transformative power of cooking. He values the practice of growing one's own produce and sourcing quality ingredients, which he learned while working on his father's tomato farm.

Chef Susana
Susana Trilling is a chef, teacher, caterer, author, TV host, food consultant and directora of Seasons of My Heart Cooking School. Susana has lived in Oaxaca since 1988, where her two sons were born and raised on their ranch outside of the city.
